PETOSKEY — Pride flags outside of two Petoskey churches were reported as vandalized on Monday, June 16, Lt. David Schultz from the Petoskey Department of Public Safety confirmed to the News-Review. June is recognized as Pride Month, celebrating and recognizing members of the LGBTQ+ community. Schultz said Pastor Sherry McGuffin from the Cross of Christ Lutheran Church found damage on the Pride flag that was attached to the church's signpost out front.

Free performances may be coming to your neck of the Hundred Acre Wood with a series of live shows featuring Winnie the Pooh and his friends, hosted by the Great Lakes Center for the Arts. Bright Star Theatre will be visiting multiple area libraries for a series of free, public performances, aimed primarily for children from preschool through third grade. Performances will take place at six libraries from June 16-18.

PETOSKEY — First responders and local students made their way to Boyne City for a day of connections and kickball during the Char-Em ISD's Sunny Day Camp. The Sunny Day Camp program on Friday, May 30 brought law enforcement and first responders together with middle and high school students, as well as adult students with disabilities throughout Char-Em's service region in Charlevoix, Emmet and Antrim counties.
