The YMCA of Centre County’s Anti-Hunger Program is kicking off its free Summer Food Program to “help kids get their fill of food and fun.”The program begins in June and distributes weekly meal packages with breakfast and lunch. There are nine sites across the county where parents can pick up the bulk meal packages for their children. A list of sites will be released in the coming weeks at ymcaocc.org.

    STATE COLLEGE — The 63rd annual AAUW State College Used Book Sale set a record for the beloved community event in sales and attendance, helping empower women and girls. The Used Book Sale was held from Saturday, May 17, through Tuesday, May 22, at the Penn State Snider Ag Arena. The event attracted 7,627 customers this year, a 4.5% increase in attendance from the year before. “The increased attendance at this year’s sale tells us that readers still seek out paper books.

    Boalsburg Fire Company Carnival — Thursday, May 22 through Monday, May 26The annual carnival is back for another year from Thursday, May 22, to Monday, May 26, at the Boalsburg Fire Hall. The carnival will be open from 6 to 10 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, the parade lineup will start at 3 p.m., with vendors opening at 4 on Saturday, open from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday and open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Memorial Day Monday. At the carnival, there will be food, games, rides and much more.

The career fair will feature a wide variety of employment opportunities from entry-level to experienced, hybrid positions, remote positions, full-time positions and part-time positions.
