Leeds United have once again had another eventful calendar year following their play-off final defeat to Southampton in May and promising start to the current campaign. The Whites began 2024 like an absolute house on fire as they went onto win 12 of their opening 13 league matches, while also progressing through to the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Leeds United head into the second half of the season in yet another mightily close battle for automatic promotion. Sheffield United, Leeds, Burnley and Sunderland all look as though they could be fighting for a place in the Championship’s top two right until the end. Daniel Farke‘s side have been hugely impressive at Elland Road so far this term, winning each of their last nine home league matches.

Leeds United continue their festive period with another away match at Derby County. The Whites made it just two wins from their last eight games on the road on Boxing Day as they comfortably dispatched Stoke City 2-0 thanks to a brace from Joel Piroe. Daniel Farke’s squad appear to have come through Thursday’s match without any new injury concerns, though the Leeds boss did confirm both Sam Byram and Ethan Ampadu would be assessed.

Leeds United are back on the road on Boxing Day as they make the trip to Stoke City in the Championship. This game will officially mark the halfway point of the season and after another comprehensive home win over Oxford United, Leeds need to start replicating that away. With Leeds now right in the thick of the festive period, rotation is going to be extremely important for Daniel Farke and so it will be interesting to see what changes he looks to make.
