Alternative Bradford will explore the city's alternative music scene from the 1970s to the present day and look at its future. It will be hosted and chaired by Nick Toczek, a poet, writer, and performer, as well as a University of Bradford honorary graduate. The event will be held this Saturday, June 7, from 10am to 3pm in the Boiler Room at the transformed Bradford Live. The one-day symposium will feature speakers from across musical genres, including punk, indie, jazz, folk, and spoken word.

PC Charlie Valente, 24, was sentenced today at Leeds Crown Court to a two-year community order with 200 hours unpaid work, a 90-day alcohol rehabilitation program and 20-day rehabilitation programme. He was also ordered to pay £8,000 in court costs. He remains suspended from duty pending accelerated misconduct proceedings. Valente, based at Learning and Organisational Development, was found guilty following a trial of three counts of sexual touching.

Police were called on Saturday evening to the scene of an altercation involving two men on Kingsway, Bingley. One of the men was injured and taken to hospital. A man was also arrested at the scene, but has since been released. Police, who put a cordon in place to investigate, have released a statement following the incident. A spokesperson for the West Yorkshire Police said: "Police were called to Kingsway, Bingley, at 8:34pm on Saturday, May 31, to a report of an altercation involving two men.

Robert Bowles has been made subject to the CBO, which covers the Bradford district and will not expire until April 2028. The order states that he must not "enter the grounds of any residential dwelling in Bradford Metropolitan District that does not belong to him, without the express permission of the lawful occupier. This includes gardens, yards, and driveways".
