The public has more time to weigh in on those proposed changes. Citing the impact of recent wildfires on the area, the U.S. Department of Energy delayed its public meetings and extended the comment period on site cleanup from this month to March.

    Korean Baptist Church wants to create a new 1.2-acre parcel from its 2.58-acre site. The church townhouse complex will have 26 units, including three designated affordable. Lighthouse Bible Church, which is in the same neighborhood, also plans to sell part of its site for proposed apartments. A proposed 26-unit townhome complex on a church site will go before the Simi Valley Planning Commission Wednesday as part of a growing trend of converting religious sites to housing.
