For the 13th year in a row, public and private spaces throughout the City of Madison will become musical stages on June 21 with over 200 free live performances for Make Music Madison. Coffee shops, community centers, schools, front porches, public libraries, and park shelters will all feature a diversity of music at Make Music Madison, a free, citywide day of music every June 21. Make Music Day is a celebration that occurs in more than 1,000 cities across the globe.

The three-student team representing Madison Metropolitan School District’s Spring Harbor Middle School, comprised of eighth-graders Teresa Ketarkus and Makai Moore and seventh-grader Elias Ketchum, took home the top honor at the 100 Black Men of America’s 2025 African American History Academic Challenge (AAHAC) June 5-6 during the organization’s 39th Annual Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana. Spring Harbor, located on Madison’s West Side, also won the national championship in 2018.
