Chris Bown, who most recently led Health and Community Services in Jersey, has been appointed interim executive managing director at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn. The post is a newly-created role as part of the effective merger of Norfolk's three main hospitals - which has seen the creation of the Norfolk and Waveney University Hospitals Group.

Paul Havers, a retired agricultural engineer from Harleston, died in January at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital. He was 64. An inquest into his death was held at Norfolk Coroner's Court. He died after going into cardiac arrest at the hospital, having developed a form of heart failure as a result of the chemotherapy he had been receiving.

Glenis Townsend, 74, died in November last year at her home in Hemsby, near Great Yarmouth. An inquest into her death held at Norfolk Coroner's Court heard she was a retired carer who led an active life. In October 2021, she was diagnosed with cancer of the endometrium and advised that she would need to undergo chemotherapy and radiotherapy. However, at the time of her death, she had been placed on a palliative pathway of treatment which had left her bedbound in her final weeks.

Norfolk Coroner's Court in Norwich (Image: Denise Bradley) Investigations are under way after a man in his 50s was found dead in his home. Steven Dunne was found unresponsive at his home in the Lakenham area of Norwich earlier this year. He was 57. An inquest into his death was opened at Norfolk Coroner's Court on Thursday, May 29. During a short hearing, assistant coroner Johanna Thompson confirmed Mr Dunne was born on January 1, 1968, and lived in Mill Close.

Dr Rajeeve Parkianathan, a psychiatrist who worked for the Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT), died in January at the age of 43. He was found unresponsive in the Castle Gardens in Norwich on January 21, having suffered catastrophic injuries in a fall from height, and was declared dead at the scene. An inquest into his death was opened the following week and heard that he lived in Witton, near Norwich, and had been born in Sri Lanka.
