STRATTANVILLE — It’s been awhile since the Brookville Lady Raiders softball team won a postseason game. Like since before none of the current Lady Raiders were even born. Tuesday’s 2-1 nail-biting win over No. 4 seed Central Clarion at the C-L Sports Complex gave the fifth-seeded Lady Raiders their first playoff win since 2006, which happened to be an opening-round state playoff 2-1 victory over WPIAL runner-up Neshannock.

KNOX — Central Clarion scored five first inning runs and pitcher Jenna Dunn benefited from the early run support in tossing a six-hitter as the Wildcats softball team came away with a 14-2 six-inning victory at Keystone Monday. Scheduled to visit St. Marys Wednesday in their regular-season finale, the Wildcats were 8-5 and playoff-bound in Class 2A. It’ll likely be a six-team field with Cranberry, Brockway, Redbank Valley and Moniteau along with the Wildcats and Brookville.

KNOX — Missing the postseason for the first time since 2016, the Clarion-Limestone Lions baseball took a 5-10 record into Wednesday’s home game with Moniteau. Monday against Keystone, the Lions lost on a walk-off to the Panthers who scored the tying and go-ahead runs on Kord Stewart’s two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the seventh. The Panthers started their rally with two outs and nobody on after Paul Craig got the first two outs on groundouts.

FRILLS CORNERS — Three Clarion-Limestone home runs were more than enough offense to help pitchers Kohen Kemmer and Jayden Siwiecki as the Lions defeated North Clarion 10-0 in five innings Monday. The win hiked the Lions to 4-8 going into Wednesday’s home game with Cranberry, which was postponed from Tuesday. Friday, the Lions visit St. Marys. Next week, the Lions visit Keystone Monday and host Moniteau Thursday. Kemmer, Aiden Coulson, and Jayden Siwiecki each hit homers.
