    BROOKVILLE — Monthly reports were accepted at the April meeting of the Jefferson County Jail Board, held Tuesday morning. Prison reportThe Jefferson County Jail began the month of March with 93 inmates. At the end of the month there were 95 inmates, with five housed outside the county. Housed in the Jefferson County Jail were 67 men and 23 women. As of April 1, 29 prisoners have been sentenced and 66 are still awaiting trial or hearing.

On April 13 at 11:30 a.m. police met and arrested the man with information provided by the 814 Pred Hunter team.

    NEW BETHLEHEM – The Redbank Valley Chamber of Commerce board of directors continues to grow with the appointment of two new members this week. At their April 21 meeting, the chamber appointed Shannon Polka and Rachel Westover, both employees of the Charles Leach Agency in New Bethlehem. The appointments came following the resignation of board member Joe Belfield, who had only served on the chamber board for a short time. “We’re getting close to a full board,” chamber president John Gerow said.
