HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa. – Blair County District Attorney’s Office has been granted extra time to respond to a list of pretrial motions filed by Luigi Mangione’s defense. In March, Mangione’s defense attorney Thomas Dickey, of Altoona, filed more than 30 pages of pre-trial motions, arguing he was unlawfully detained, interrogated and searched prior to his Blair County arrest on forgery and firearms charges.

SOMERSET, Pa. - A former Somerset County commissioner who spearheaded efforts to rejuvenate local waterways, carve rail trails and establish the Cambria Somerset Authority has died. Dave Mankamyer, 86, was a Friedens-area cattle farmer and businessman who spent two terms on Somerset County's Board of Commissioners as, in his words, "a builder."David Hurst is a reporter for The Tribune-Democrat.
