Pittsburgh native and former Major League Baseball player Jason Conti has died, the Arizona Diamondbacks announced this week. He was 50 years old. Conti spent time with the Diamondbacks, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Milwaukee Brewers and Texas Rangers during his five-year MLB career. He was a member of the Diamondbacks team that won the 2001 World Series. For his career, Jason Conti hit .238 with 24 doubles, five triples, six home runs and 47 RBIs across 182 games played.

Only Tanner Kelly has yet to compete, as the AAA boys long jump began today at 12:30 p.m.The girls 3200-meter relay team of Cassie Mulhollem, Julie McCracken, Mariah Priest and Rebecca Shiner were the first of the area participants to compete Friday.

PENFIELD — State police in DuBois have released details of a head-on accident which claimed the lives of three area residents at 9:22 p.m. on Memorial Day at 7092 Bennetts Valley Highway, Huston Township, Clearfield County. According to police, Cayden M. Wiseman, 20, DuBois, the driver of a 2023 Acura Integra, and Jacob T. Belinda, 30, Port Matilda, the driver of a 2022 GM Corp Sierra, were traveling southbound on Bennetts Valley Highway.
