A 23-boat Royal Cork Yacht Club dinghy frostbite series is underway in Crosshaven with 28 competitors across ILCA 4, ILCA6/RS Aero and a mixed dinghy fleet.
Three races were sailed in light winds on November 3rd. Racing is set to continue on the 10th, 17th, and 24th and finish up on Saturday the 30th, for a potential of fifteen races in total.
Royal Cork Yacht Club's Craig O'Neill tops the ten-boat ILCA 4 fleet by a single point from clubmate Andrew O'Neill on eight.

The pre-race favourite Teasing Machine, Pete Smyth’s Searcher and James Neville’s Ino Noir had the best of today’s (Saturday 22 June) upwind start in the 22nd SSE Renewables Round Ireland Yacht Race off Wicklow in a 16-knot testing southerly breeze with ebb tide under way. The scheduled 1pm start was postponed due to race committee personnel only arriving on the committee boat, the LE Bernard Shaw, at 12.45pm.

The J/70 European Championships kicks off today with 'Team Wildcard' as the only Irish entry for this year's highly competitive event in Italy. With over 70 J/70s from 18 nations, the event in Argentario is going to make for five days of very exciting racing and a chance for the Munster team to make its mark after placing sixth earlier this year at the Primo Cup in Monaco. The Enterprise sailing dinghy was designed by Jack Holt in 1956. Early that year, it rocked the sailing world when two Enterprises sailed from Dover to Calais in the middle of the night.
The class quickly became extremely popular, and over 23,000 hulls were built, in the early years, many by amateurs, in their garages. The class was quickly adopted in Ireland with strong fleets throughout the country.

Three fishermen were rescued by the Wicklow RNLI on Saturday afternoon (10th February) after their 12-metre vessel developed mechanical problems off the Wicklow coast. The Coast Guard requested the RNLI relief fleet all-weather Shannon lifeboat RNLB Bridie O’Shea at 12.50pm, and a volunteer crew led by Coxswain Tommy McAulay responded immediately. The skipper of the fishing vessel had reported that it was fouled in ropes and drifting south, prompting the rescue mission.

Irish crews were second and third overall in the 44Cup Alcaidesa Marina in Spain at the weekend.
