George Gregory Kibble was sentenced Friday in Lethbridge court of justice to five years in prison after he pleaded guilty to charges of discharging a prohibited firearm, unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon, and possession of a prohibited firearm contrary to a prohibition order.

Cordelle Bad Arm and his girlfriend were walking near Immanuel Christian School on 6 Avenue North last Friday when the man, who was pushing a scooter, swung the scooter at the woman, kicked her and attempted to head butt her.

Christopher David Smith had hoped to make bail last week, but following a bail hearing Friday in Lethbridge court of justice, Justice Erin Olsen adjourned her decision for several days. When the matter returned to court on Tuesday, Olsen rejected the accused’s plea for bail, as well as his proposed surety.

During a brief hearing Tuesday in Lethbridge court of justice, Calgary lawyer Robin McIntyre pleaded not guilty on behalf of her client, Donovan James Holmberg, and told court her client elects to be tried by a Court of King’s Bench judge and jury, with a preliminary hearing.
