    BIGFORK — The Bigfork Fire District Board of Trustees has approved a bond initiative and mill levy for the special election on September 9. The bond, if approved, will go toward building a new headquarters for the Bigfork Fire Department, along with replacing and upgrading existing facilities, and new equipment.     POLSON — The American Legion of Polson honored those who gave their lives serving our country with an honorary procession through downtown and a ceremony at the Lakeview Cemetery. Jeff Nelson from Hardwick Post 112 says the event's purpose was to get the community to honor fallen soldiers of past and present wars. “A community rallies around an individual that goes off to join the service, and sometimes they don't always come back,” Nelson said.

    KALISPELL — The Glacier High softball team is no stranger to the state tournament, and it's competing for a second state championship in three years, led by a mix of experienced and younger players. After securing the No. 2 seed in the Western AA, Glacier has again established itself as one of the teams to watch in the postseason. Wolfpack coach Abby Snipes says her team made it to this point with strong offensive and defensive performances, along with being a tight-knit group.

    KALISPELL — The Pioneer League's Glacier Range Riders and the U.S. National Park Service have come to a resolution in their dispute over the team's arrowhead logo. The resolution will allow the team to continue using the logo. Since October 2022, the Range Riders, who debuted in the independent Pioneer League earlier that year, were in a dispute over one of the logos the team had designed.
