SIOUX CITY -- The Sioux City Council is slated to make changes to the city's fireworks ordinance Monday to comply with a new state law. Last month, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds signed into law Senate File 303, which prohibits city governments from restricting the use of fireworks during the following days and times:From 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on July 3 (If July 3 falls on a Saturday or Sunday immediately preceding July 4, fireworks can be used until 11 p.m.)From 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on July 4From 9 a.m. on Dec.

DAKOTA CITY, Neb. -- The cause of a fire that heavily damaged a Dakota City boat dealership Friday morning remains under investigation by the Nebraska State Fire Marshal. Dakota City Fire Chief Clint Rasmussen said a passerby reported the fire at Cimmarina Boats, 1909 Broadway St., at 5 a.m."When we got on the scene, the fire was already through the roof," Rasmussen said.

SIOUX CITY -- A group plans to construct a $5 million, 65,000-square-foot multi-sport complex for Siouxland Sports Academy west of Lewis & Clark Park. The Sioux City Council will be asked Monday to approve a resolution announcing the city's intent to accept Siouxland Developers, LLC's proposal to purchase property at 3400 Line Drive and construct the sports complex, according to city documents.

SIOUX CITY -- The Sioux City Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating a 10-year-old boy. Lyndrick Griffin was reportedly last seen leaving his home in the 2800 block of West Fourth St. at approximately 7 p.m. Tuesday. The police department said in a Facebook post Thursday morning that Lyndrick is described as Native American. He is approximately five feet, two inches tall and weighs 60 pounds. "He should still have a red cast on his right arm," the post said.
