The eatery, located inside of the full-service, 120-room DoubleTree by Hilton at 701 Gordon Drive, gets its name from the year Sioux City was founded. As a way to pay further tribute to local history, the walls of 1854 Grille, which opened in mid-March, are lined with black-and-white photos depicting the Sioux City of the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s.
