She was described by her boyfriend as, well, "boujie," a slang word for someone with luxurious, high-class tastes. Before she went in, the boyfriend told her that the staff at the dealership is great, that they would take great care of her.

TONAWANDA, N.Y.—Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd. (SRI) has amended both the number of employees affected and the closing date of its 102-year-old tire factory in Tonawanda,SRI reported the number of affected workers now stands at 1,397, 17 more than what was previously announced. The plant, which officially was to close on Feb. 15, will close May 15. The changes were reported in a New York State Department of Labor Worker Adjustment and Retaining Notice (WARN) filed last month.

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico—So what does the off-the-road (OTR) tire industry look like in the months ahead? Kevin Rohlwing, chief technical officer at the Tire Industry Association (TIA), summed up the OTR forecast based on three letters: TII—tariffs, inflation and interest rates. Three of the major sectors of the OTR segment—residential construction, commercial construction and mining—will be affected by those factors, Rohlwing said during his annual review of the sectpr.
