Jamie King, 39, was found dead at his flat in the city having taken protonitazene, a synthetic painkiller so dangerous it never passed clinical trials.

Stephen Smith, who was epileptic, suffered a traumatic brain injury following a road traffic accident in 2005. The 50-year-old, who lived in assisted housing in Norfolk, died on July 28 last year. An inquest into his death has now been scheduled to take place at Norfolk Coroner’s Court on May 5.

Philip Yorke-Edgell, of Guist, near Dereham, died at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital on August 23 last year. At an earlier opening at the court, the medical cause was given as subdural haemorrhage - but how he became injured currently remains a mystery. Now it is for a coroner at Norfolk Coroner's Court to determine how he came by his death.

Senior coroner, Jacqueline Lake, recently opened an inquest into the retired saleswoman’s death at Norfolk Coroner’s Court.

Richard Sheed, 79, had been a resident at Rose Lodge care home in Wisbech before his death on March 26 this year. An inquest opening at Norfolk Coroner’s Court was told that a post mortem report had revealed he died following surgery at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) in King’s Lynn.

An inquest opening into the death of Jason Clifford heard that he had been discovered after police were called following concerns for his safety. Mr Clifford had been staying at a guest house on Guanock Terrace in King's Lynn, and died there on January 10.

Keith Hutson, of Charmbeck Park in Haveringland, near Aylsham, died at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital on October 19 last year. The 86-year-old retired carpenter had been diagnosed with the disease after suffering with a cough and difficulty in catching his breath.
