The Canyon Oaks Women’s Golf Club enjoyed a good turnout of 75 members and guests for its Guests and Friends Day Tournament. The format was a 4-Woman, 2 Best-Ball. Taking first in the first flight was the team of Shelley Carney, Nancy Chamberlin, Debbie Maderos and Susie Westcott with a net score of 124; 2, Karen Escott, Joan Hart, Katie Leach and Robin Manna, 127; 3, Diana Lotspeich, Sophia Magana, Linda Mowell and Cynthia Paulo, 129.

Kelly MacKinnon came in with a score of 76 to win overall low gross in the Bidwell Women’s Golf Club 3-Day, Eclectic Format Spring Tournament at Bidwell Park Golf Course. \Gail Johnson took the overall low net title, albeit via the card-off process over Sandy Sample, with a score of 61. First flight low gross: Becky Callas, 78. Net winners: 1, Betty Linzy, 63, card-off; 2, Linda Jones, 63; 3, Karla Dreiss, 64, card-off. Second flight low gross: Pam Coleman, 90.

The club champions were crowned at Butte Creek last week. Some are new and some repeated their success from last year. They will all have their own private parking space for a year as well as their name engraved on the perpetual trophies displayed in the clubhouse. For openers, Heather Fegley continued her dominance in the women’s division repeating as the overall club champion with a two-day gross score of 154, easily outdistancing the rest of the field by 20 strokes.

By the narrowest of margins, the team of Sally Hayes and Pam Miller emerged victorious in the first flight of the 2025 Butte Creek Women’s 3-Day, Partner’s Match Play Tournament, with a total of 26 match points. The team of Joan Hart and Susie Westcott settled for the second spot with 25.5 points. Taking third was the team of Karla Dreiss and Jeannie Stone with a total of 25 points. The team of Barbara Joronen and Darlene Thomasson claimed top honors in the second flight with 24.5 match points.

The Butte Creek Senior Men’s Golf Club held a Member/Guest Day Tournament last week. The format was a 2-Man, 1 Best-Ball on the first day and a Scramble on the second day. The team of Erv Alves and Paul Snider won the first flight with a two-day total score of 130.07. Others earning golf shop credit in the first flight were: 2, Garth Moore and John MacTavish, 130.17; 3, Art Gausemel and Ben Heerema, 131.07. The team of Tim Beach and George Fahey were overall low gross with a two-day score of 128.
