A 36-year-old man has been arrested after another man was found dead Sunday inside a home in Emporia. Lyon County dispatch received a call about 7 a.m. about an unconscious person at a residence in the 200 block of W. 10th Ave. in northern Emporia. Officers and EMS were sent to the home where they found Raul Rosado Reyes, 62, dead, a news release said Tuesday. Police said he had apparent injuries but did not say what they were. The department did not immediately respond to an inquiry for more details.

Its been a soggy Memorial Day weekend and the rain is forecast to hang around this week. Here’s a look at how much rain has fallen in Wichita and south-central Kansas, according to the National Weather Service. From Saturday to Monday afternoon, the Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport recorded 3.64 inches of rain, NWS Wichita meteorologist William Iwasko said. Valley Center received the most rainfall at 6.67 inches. Park City saw 5.98, Haysville at 5.13, Goddard at 4.75.

Four people were killed and four others were injured after a head-on crash Saturday afternoon in central Kansas. The crash was reported at 2:55 p.m. along Kansas Highway 4 near Carlton in Dickinson County. A 2013 Hyundai Elantra was eastbound on K-4. At the same time, a 2025 Chevrolet Traverse was heading west on K-4. For unknown reasons, the Elantra crossed the center line and struck the Traverse head-on, a Kansas Highway Patrol crash log shows.

A 20-year-old man died Sunday after a fiery crash where his sedan left the road, entered a ditch and struck a tree in northeast Kansas. The man was identified as Richard Roberts of Sebring, Florida, Kansas Highway Patrol logs show. The crash was reported at 2:13 a.m. along U.S. 77 in Geary County. Roberts was driving northbound on U.S. 77 in a 2020 Ford Fusion. The report said he was driving at a high rate of speed and entered a ditch.
