Sales are forecast to grow to €33.3 million by 2029, a projected 35% increase in value. The ongoing war in Ukraine has affected the supply of sunflower oil and climate change is raising the price of olive oil.

The Church of Ireland's Archbishop of Dublin has said he shares the outrage and the sadness of the brave staff at the Al-Ahli Arab hospital in Gaza city that was targeted by Israeli airstrikes. The hospital, which has been supported by the Church of Ireland Dioceses of Dublin and Glendalough through their relationship with the Dioceses of Jerusalem can now no longer function, leaving the injured and the sick out of the streets of Gaza city.

Former EU Commissioner and Vice President of the European Parliament Mairead McGuinness says she will make a decision by next month as to whether she will run for Áras an Uachtaráin. Speaking on RTÉ's Upfront with Katie Hannon, she said: "I'll make a decision by May of this year."Asked if she had had discussions with Fine Gael colleagues she said she had finished up in December after 20 years working in European institutions. She said it was a big decision.

A representative from the Mothers Against Genocide group has said members are taking legal advice following complaints about the treatment of a number of protesters who were arrested outside the Dáil on Sunday night. Ten women and one man were arrested, with 11 people having received adult cautions. Three men were arrested for public order offences and are now being dealt with through the courts system.

The cousin of Private Seán Rooney, who was killed while on a peacekeeping mission in Lebanon in December 2022, has hailed his late relative for helping him achieve a career "milestone", after he was among a number of Defence Forces members commissioned this afternoon. Second Lieutenant Chris McCluskey, from Co Derry, was among 35 members of the 100th Cadet class and 29 members of the 12th Potential Officers Course who were commissioned at the Curragh.
