A Kansas City veterans organization has broken ground on a new park intended to honor veterans of military service. St. Michael's Veterans Center, a nonprofit organization that provides affordable housing to veterans who are homeless or disabled in the Kansas City area, held a ceremony Friday to kick off construction of Patriot Park. The park is being constructed on the grounds of the veterans center at 3818 Chelsea Drive.
