ST. GEORGE – With temperatures expected to soar this weekend, Zion National Park officials are urging hikers to be prepared. The warning comes after 13 people had to be rescued in southern Utah for heat-related illnesses. "It's hot down here in Zion, and we've got a lot of people coming to the park," Matthew Fink, a spokesperson for Zion National Park, said. Fink said they rescued an individual yesterday who was experiencing symptoms of heat-related illness.

SPRINGVILLE — Bailey Rama, 13, has found words to be an outlet. "Writing helps me a lot," she said. For years, the teen has dealt with depression. She said even basic tasks like getting out of bed or brushing her teeth can feel overwhelming. "I'm tired, and just, like, numb. Most of my friends who deal with that are, like, 'Oh.' They think I'm attention-seeking. If you tell someone you're struggling with that, it's not attention-seeking. You just want help," she said. And Bailey is not alone.

SOUTH SALT LAKE — Huntsman Mental Health Institute’s new Crisis Care Center has been in operation for nearly two months, and the Center’s director says it’s meeting a critical need. “There is an access problem in Utah. It’s great to see that when you create expanded access, that people see it and they use it,” said Director of the Kem and Carolyn Gardner Mental Health Crisis Care Center Kevin Curtis.
