SLIGO Petanque Club and Sligo Town Twinning hosted a very enjoyable Petanque (French boules) Tournament recently at the purpose built facility in Mitchell Curley Park. 20 Petanque players from Brittany, Sligo Town Twinning members along with Sligo Petanque Club celebrated the Breton connection and the 45th Anniversary of Sligo-Crozon Twinning. Although a minority sport in Sligo, it is popular with all ages and fitness levels. Petanque has a great social aspect and it is very easy to learn.
