After putting together an hour-long comedy sketch in the span of a month, Marissa Comstock takes a bow of pride as the full-house audience applauds her and her castmates’ performance in the “Freshman Fifteen” show on Friday, Feb. 28. The first-year comedy major broke new ground for the college’s School of Theatre and Dance when she pitched, directed and head-wrote “Freshman Fifteen,” a 15-act comedy sketch written, directed and performed by about 15 first-year students.

On Thursday, Feb. 27, the Museum of Contemporary Photography hosted their annual benefit auction on the fifth floor of the Student Center, premiering both artworks and interactive experiences from a variety of contemporary artists around the world to raise money for the museum’s exhibitions, programs and educational initiatives. The auction was located outside the event space with two gallery walls displaying the pieces up for sale.

This week on Chronversations: Young voter turnout in the 2024 election was lower than it has been in two previous presidential elections, according to from the Center for Information & Research on Civic Learning and Engagement at Tufts University. Overall, 42% of young voters ages 18 to 29 cast ballots in the 2024 presidential election, a lower youth turnout than 2020 and 2016 when 50% of the same age group cast ballots. Turnout was higher and close to 50% in the seven battleground state.
