Osgood Perkins’ sixth horror film as director, “The Monkey,” inspired by Stephen King’s short story from the 1980 collection “Skeleton Crew,” invites audiences to embrace their fears with a twist of dark humor. While it may fall short on emotional depth or thematic weight, the film more than makes up for it with its playful approach and sheer entertainment value.

After Microsoft cut the amount of free storage granted to educational institutions, Columbia will have to reduce the 1TB that students, faculty and staff currently have or pay extra. “The college will be assessing its future storage plans with heavy consideration to students’ needs as well as those of faculty and staff,” said Lambrini Lukidis, associate vice president of Strategic Communications and External Relations. The change will happen in October 2026, Lukidis said.

We’ve refocused our editorial mission for print to amplify the voices of our peers at a time when many members of our community are under attack from the Trump Administration, when faculty are worried about their jobs and when students are worried about their future careers.

En la primera reunión del semestre de Alianza Latina, la organización estudiantil de Columbia que provee un espacio para los estudiantes latinos, el miembro Angle Katana, estudiante de escritura creativa de tercer año, estaba emocionado de regresar a las actividades y la comunidad.

Across the back wall of the Conaway Center, at 1104 S. Wabash Ave., a new mural depicting legs walking on their next path illuminates the space. Surrounding the legs are the two women who founded Columbia, Mary Blood and Ida Riley, along with vibrant flowers, a CTA train and a group of students. The mural was unveiled on Tuesday, Feb. 11 during an anniversary party hosted by the college. Mac McGuire, a 2024 graduate who painted the mural, hoped to capture the idea of growth and blooming in her piece.
