A cruel “family friend” stole £8,000 from a Renfrewshire woman who he offered to provide care to. Craig Littlejohn used the bank card belonging to an “adult with incapacity” on 17 separate occasions to basically render the account empty and claimed that he was “paying off drug debt”. The 36-year-old offered to provide care to a family friend and was paid £10 per hour to help with cleaning and food shopping.

An opportunist thief admitted brazenly stealing £29,000 worth of diamond rings from a Renfrewshire jewellery shop. Edward Burnside acted alongside another male, Jack Duff, 19, when they targeted the Ernest Jones outlet at Braehead Shopping Centre in August 2023. Lauren O’Neill posted adverts online of dogs and puppies for sale and accepted deposits and full payments before sending buyers to random addresses to collect their “new pet”. However, when the buyers turned up at these properties, there were no puppies, the householders were totally unaware and their cash was never returned.
