NORWALK, Conn. — A group of Norwalk High School students brought home top honors from the Connecticut Drama Association’s one-act competition this spring, a high-energy event hosted at Central Connecticut State University that spotlighted both performance and technical innovation. The competition, which drew seven schools from across the state, challenged students to prepare a one-act show, tech it (set up lighting, sound cues) in 15 minutes, perform it in 45, and clear the stage in five.

The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP), sidestepping local concerns, has approved Eversource’s proposal to relocate two high-voltage power lines by drilling conduits beneath Norwalk Harbor. The decision was greeted with dismay at a meeting of the Norwalk Harbor Management Commission, where some members said DEEP hadn’t considered or even acknowledged its concerns in approving the plan.
