Harvest Home Park is getting revamped. The park at 3961 North Bend Road in Cheviot is home to the Harvest Home Fair, which honors original settlers of Cheviot who once called that land home. With more than 160 years of history, it's one of the city's largest events. Now, the city wants to revitalize the place where Cheviot began.

Warming shelters across the region are opening their doors to people who need a place to shelter from the cold. The National Weather Service in Wilmington reports that more than 14.6 inches of snow accumulated over the past week as two storms blew through the region. Temperatures this week will stay below freezing until Friday when a high of 38 degrees is expected, the weather service says.

The nearly 50,000 people who moved to Cincinnati from Appalachia 70 years ago found their new home was much different than the one they left behind. A rural, sparse area of rolling hills was replaced with jam-packed city streets and tight quarters in apartment buildings. The East End, Over-the-Rhine, Camp Washington, South Fairmount and Carthage were among city neighborhoods first housing most of those migrants. Many also found homes across the river in Newport and Covington.

The deaths of two Greater Cincinnati residents this week are being investigated as hypothermia-related amid one of the largest snowstorms our region has seen in recent years. On Sunday evening, 94-year-old Susie Couch was reported missing from Franklin, the Warren County Sheriff's Office said in a social media post. Couch, who had dementia, was found dead the next day near her Manchester Road home.
