JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — An Osprey aircraft was taxied off the runway at Albert J. Ellis (OAJ) Airport Friday afternoon. The call came in around 6 p.m. saying an Osprey had smoke coming from its landing gear, according to Onslow County Communications Director Kevin Reopelle. He said members of the airport fire department responded and the smoke had put itself out. He said the plane had to be taxied off the runway.

FARMVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — Law enforcement officers with the Farmville Police Department received reports of a shooting late Monday night. Farmville Police Department investigating potential crime sceneOfficers arrived to West Moore Street around 10pm to find two men suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the men was pronounced dead when EMS arrived and the other was transported to ECU Health, his condition unknown. The names of those involved have yet to be released. Information is forthcoming.
