    Congrats, Penn State. The spring semester is just about finished. Now, as the last day of classes approaches, it’s time to jam out at Movin’ On 2025. Penn State’s annual end-of-semester music festival is on Friday, May 2. But before you venture across campus to sing and dance along to this year’s stacked lineup, you’ll need to check the weather and prepare for what Mother Nature has in store.

    Over the years during finals week, we’ve had staffer spend 24 hours at the library and at the HUB during finals week and share their experiences. One day, I realized that the Arboretum has yet to be lived in for 24 hours, and inspiration struck. Given that my apartment and most of downtown State College currently has no power, the timing couldn’t be anymore perfect. I’ve decided to conquer the impossible and live in the good ‘ole Arb. Follow along for my 24-hour adventure, as I touch some grass.

    Penn State’s Vice President for Student Affairs Andrea Dowhower offered resources and support to students experiencing power outages due to the severe thunderstorms on Tuesday night, in a statement released Wednesday afternoon. Although many off-campus facilities and housing don’t have electricity, a majority of campus is still fully functioning, according to Dowhower. Penn State WiFi is still available across campus, including Patee and Paterno libraries.

    The XL Improv Festival is returning to the Blue Brick Theatre for the fourth year in a row for a series of workshops and shows from May 15 through May 18, bringing in comedians from across the country. Shows will run from 6 to 10 p.m. nightly. Hosted by Happy Valley Improv, the festival will feature workshops led by experienced improvisers, 12 comedy shows, campus tours, and scavenger hunts.
