Customers at The Mariners Compass in Gorleston were stunned when the Human, Skin and Giant hitmaker stepped up to take a turn at the open mic night on Thursday evening. He had been in the town to visit his father Tony who runs the event every week.

Hundreds of homes are currently facing a power cut (Image: UK Power Networks) Hundreds of homes in Norfolk left without electricity. A spokesman for UK Power Networks has confirmed 665 properties in the NR21 9, NR22 6 and PE31 8 postcode areas around Burnham Market were hit by a power cut this afternoon. It is believed to have been caused by a fault with an overhead cable. Power has been restored to around 300 homes with 351 waiting longer to regain power.

A man has been banned from driving after a crash on the A47 (Image: Cambridgeshire Constabulary) A man has been slapped with a 20-month driving ban after mounting his car on an A47 roundabout. It happened in Wisbech on March 15 when Dillon Richardson, 21, was driving with a passenger in the vehicle. After the collision, both he and his passenger walked away from the scene. A worried member of the public alerted police and officers launched a search of the area.

Rescue teams were called out after a boat broke down near Brundall (Image: Hemsby Lifeboat) A woman and her dog had to call for help after their boat broke down on the Norfolk Broads. Humber Coastguard paged Hemsby Broads Rescue to help the boat which started facing engine issues near Brundall. The Broads lifeboat was launched from Cantley just after 4pm on Wednesday.
