LAPEER COUNTY, MI - A traffic signal modernization project is scheduled to begin next week at a busy intersection in Lapeer County. The work at the intersection of M-24 and Burnside Road in Lapeer County is set to begin Wednesday, June 11, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT). The $281,000 investment aims to enhance traffic flow and improve safety at intersection near North Branch, Barnes Lake, and Millers Lake.

FLINT, MI - Flint residents will soon have a simpler way to file city income taxes thanks to a new partnership between the City of Flint and the Michigan Department of Treasury. Starting Jan. 1, 2027, the state will take over processing Flint’s city income tax returns, making tax filing faster, more accurate, and more convenient for taxpayers. The change will apply to tax filings for the 2026 tax year and beyond.

The 3rd Annual Get Youth Outdoors Day is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 7, at the Bluegill Boat Launch, located at 4045 E. Coldwater Road. Hosted by the Union Sportsmen’s Alliance, UAW Local 659, and Genesee County Parks, the free community event is open to children ages 8 and up, accompanied by an adult. No registration is required. Admission is free.

The anonymous survey was distributed to about 1,200 business owners across various industries and had a 6.5% response rate.
