PFL lightweight Bruno Miranda thought he’d get a spot in the PFL World Tournament, but his consolation price isn’t so bad as he takes on Paul Hughes in the headliner at PFL Europe 1: 2025 on Saturday. “I actually was waiting to see if I was in the tournament in the beginning of the year. Things changed and then I got this opportunity to fight Paul,” Miranda told Cageside Press.

Plenty of fighters go through trials and tribulations to further their fighting career. Any number deal with personal tragedy, illness, and injury along the way. Sammy-Jo Luxton appears to have collected a career’s worth of setbacks all in little more than a year, however. Luxton (2-0) was supposed to fight for the PFL last June, only to withdraw from the bout. And for good reason, as she explained to Cageside Press ahead of this year’s PFL Europe: Belfast card.

PFL middleweight Sadibou Sy has been out of action for just under a year, but he’s back and at 185 pounds taking on Dalton Rosta in the first round of the PFL World Tournament this Friday night. “I’ve missed it. The long layoff wasn’t my choice, but actually it panned out being great. I got the opportunity for the first time in a long time to actually add new things to my game,” Sy told Cageside Press and other reporters on Wednesday.

PFL middleweight Impa Kasanganay believes the 185 division is one of the best in the game and will bring him the better challenges in this year’s PFL World Tournament. “I started my career at 185, fought Johnny (Eblen) at 185 the most recent fight. I know for a fact people haven’t seen the best version of me yet,” Kasanganay told Cageside Press in an interview. “I’m going to show that and keep refining it and getting better. I’ll claim the title at 205 in this year’s tournament as well.
