NORTH BENNINGTON — There are a lot of familiar sights along the walls of The Left Bank Maurice Kahn Gallery, though captured in a different, slightly whimsical lens. With thick lines, blended colored pencils, and shapes and patterns, Joe Bishop of Shaftsbury depicts places around town such as Powers Market — outside and in, the John G. McCullough Free Library, Price Chopper and Home Depot. He has also preserved lost sights, such as Sears and a former bowling alley.

BRATTLEBORO — Following a sold-out show last year, a contemporary ice skating company from Montreal is returning to Southern Vermont with a new show and, of course, a chance to skate with the performers afterward. On Friday, at 6 and 8 p.m. — two shows — Next Stage Arts of Putney presents Le Patin Libre, performing "Threshold" at the Nelson Withington Skating Facility at 61 Memorial Park Drive, Brattleboro.

BELLOWS FALLS — After Saskia Wildung's father, the Bellows Falls artist Charles W. Norris-Brown, passed away unexpectedly following a stroke in October 2022, the Canal Street Art Gallery, she said, "became everything to me."Wildung and her family donated his art supplies to the gallery, where they spent much time in the weeks following Norris-Brown's passing. "It gave me some peace," Wildung, of Sweden, wrote in an email to the Reformer.
