RED BLUFF-Tehama County is still looking for a road commissioner and has one supervisor who says the county is in crisis. Two camps emerged at the Board of Supervisors: those who wanted to hire a contractor and those who wanted to hire in-house. County staff proposed hiring NorthStar to provide road commissioner services for the Tehama County Public Works Department. As put forward by staff, the agreement would have a term from April 22 to Oct. 10 and not exceed $100,000.

CORNING – A Mount Shasta man was recently sentenced to several years in prison for methamphetamine possession and sale. On Dec. 4, 2023, Beau Jacob Vaughan and Edenixssa Maria Romerolaw were arrested by the Corning Police Department for possessing and transporting controlled substances. According to CPD, these arrests happened after officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle due to a moving violation. Law enforcement found Vaughan had an outstanding felony warrant from Tehama County.

Red Bluff Community Development Director Beth Lindauer said all operators are currently in compliance with their development agreement terms. The city's cannabis revenue in 2023 was $139,675.18, while in 2024 it jumped to $266,029.71.

RED BLUFF- The Red Bluff Police Department is permitting employees to incorporate a western theme into their uniforms as part of the Red Bluff Round-Up.They have been authorized to wear these jeans and cowboy hats this week. Staff will be out on patrol filling them. Police Chief Quintan Ortega shared that this week is also Dispatcher Appreciation Week. "If you happen to talk to one of our dispatchers, please thank them for their service each day and night," Ortega said.

RED BLUFF-The Red Bluff Round-Up got underway Thursday, and a group of dedicated individuals labors behind the scenes to ensure that everything runs smoothly. Red Bluff Round-up Livestock Director Lloyd Faria shared that 66 barebacks, 66 saddle bronc horses, and 66 bulls were at this year's event. These animals came from all across the country, including some from Canada. "The people that own them take very good care of them and try to make them as good as what they can be," Faria said.
