    SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. - Shasta County Sheriff Michael Johnson lifted the closure of the Sacramento River to recreational boaters. This comes as water releases into the river decrease. The closure had been in effect since February 7, to avoid unnecessary risk to recreational river users/boaters and rescue personnel. Although the water releases have decreased, they are still higher than normal, and you are urged to remain cautious when on or near the river and tributaries.

    BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - The Butte County Sheriff's Office says a man was found dead in the area of the Butte Creek Ecological Reserve off of Honey Run Road on Sunday. The Sheriff's Office identified the man as Jedediah Percifield, age 47 of Chico. Action News Now asked the sheriff's Office if the death is considered suspicious. The office said an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.

    RED BLUFF, Calif. - Caltrans says that Highway 99 between Vina and Highway 36 is closed to all traffic due to roadway flooding. Caltrans District 2 says that there is no estimated time for reopening Highway 99 at this time, and no detours have been provided.

    RED BLUFF, Calif. - The Tehama County Board of Supervisors have determined Supervisor Pati Nolen's complaint against six other county workers is unfounded. During a meeting on December 17, 2024, Supervisor Nolen claimed something illegal happened to her during a closed session meeting held on November 26, 2024. Supervisor Nolen claimed Supervisor John Leach, Supervisor Bill Moule and Supervisor Matt Hansen violated county policy and the law.
