The family of an 87 year old man are seeking to have his body exhumed in a bid to prove he was assaulted before his death. However, they will need the approval of Justice Minister Jim O'Callaghan to proceed with the exhumation of Liam Farrell, who was found dead under suspicious circumstances outside his home in Rooskey, Co Leitrim, in January 2020. Despite a postmortem indicating a heart attack as the cause of death, unexplained bruises and marks were present on Mr. Farrell's body.

Evil Shine has only served three years in jail for the indecent and sexual assault of seven boys between 1971 and 1992SIX new victims of paedo surgeon Michael Shine have come forward since the start of the year. Details of their ordeals were recounted to Taoiseach Micheal Martin last week. It came as Dignity4Patients, the group representing Shine’s 366 victims and their families, demanded a full investigation into his activities.

Among them is a 75-year-old businessman Thomas Ayres, who lives in Wales and was molested by the monster medic in 1964. Another is one of the youngest victims and he was sexually abused by Shine decades after Thomas Ayres in 1994 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.
