AbstractDisordered amino acid metabolism is observed in cerebral malaria (CM). This study sought to determine whether abnormal amino acid concentrations were associated with level of consciousness in children recovering from coma. Twenty-one amino acids and coma scores were quantified longitudinally and the data were analysed for associations. In a prospective observational study, 42 children with CM were enrolled.

Social and academic adjustment deteriorate in the years preceding a psychotic disorder diagnosis. Analyses of premorbid adjustment have recently been extended into the clinical high risk for psychosis (CHR) syndrome to identify risk factors and developmental pathways toward psychotic disorders. Work so far has been at the between-person level, which has constrained analyses of premorbid adjustment, clinical covariates, and conversion to psychosis.

Summary Agranulocytosis is a life-threatening side-effect of clozapine, the only approved drug for treatment-resistant schizophrenia. The long-term profile of this complication has not yet been well established. Here we aim to describe the risk of clozapine-induced agranulocytosis over the long term.
