EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — The Evansville Flag Group is working with the Evansville Otters to raise funds for a memorial for a beloved fan. The group plans to put a permanent memorial outside of Bosse Field for flag chairman Marvin Gray. We’re told the Otters wore city flag jerseys at Saturday’s game in his honor. Gray was an avid sports fan and supporter of Evansville athletes for decades. Many called him Evansville’s number one sports fan. AdvertisementAdvertisementHe passed away in 2016.

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — Mesker Park Zoo gives an update on some feathered residents. The two penguins, Polo and Hopscotch, are now on exhibit with the colony of Humboldt penguins after growing waterproof feathers. Zoo officials say Polo and Hopscotch are already making themselves busy by swimming, exploring and learning the ropes. If people want to see the two penguins, there is a way to tell them apart.

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — Pride Month, a global celebration of LGBTQ+ people, starts this week. Several events are planned in Evansville to kick off the month of celebrations. On Thursday, EVPL North Park will host author Kelley Coures. He will discuss more than a century of local LGBTQ+ history as featured in his book, “Out in Evansville: An LGBTQ+ History of River City.”Pride First Friday will be held in Haynie’s Corner. The night will kick off at 5:30 p.m. with Magician Collin Culiver.
