VIPNext week, the South Carolina High School League will host six state track meets at schools in the Columbia area. A handful of Gamecocks targets could land in one of those competitions. Joshua Dobson, a 2027 four-star cornerback out of Catawba Ridge, qualified for the state meet last year in both the 200-meter and 400-meter.

At least a couple of times every year for the last few years, TheBigSpur will head over to Irmo High School to meet with coach Aaron Brand and watch the Yellow Jackets practice, lift or play in a game. The 2021 Shane Beamer Football Camp offer to Nick Emmanwori initiated the semiannual trips across town, but there have been several players who keep the drives alive. Brand's son AJ, who's now a freshman quarterback at Virginia Tech, was among the prospects to cover for a few years.

It's official: Tonka Hemingway is ready to get to work for the Raiders. Tonka Hemingway is officially a member of the Las Vegas Raiders. The team announced on Thursday that Hemingway was one of several 2025 draft picks who signed rookie deals. According to spotrac.com, Hemingway inked a four-year, $4,865,816 contract, which includes a $665,816 signing bonus. The former South Carolina defensive tackle will make an average annual salary of $1,216,454.

Another offer is out in the 2026 recruiting class. VIPSouth Carolina defensive tackles coach Travian Robertson offered another 2026 prospect on Thursday, and an official visit is already on the books. Wihtlley Cadeau will be in Columbia for the official visit weekend that starts on May 30. The 6-foot-5, 280-pound prospect from Atlanta has plans for officials to Georgia, Georgia Tech and Mississippi State. Robertson stopped by Booker T.
