Report of 420-gallon oil spill near Medora, cleanup efforts initiated

MEDORA, ND — A pipeline leak reported by Cobra Oil and Gas on Sunday has released approximately 420 gallons of oil, or about 10 barrels, into the environment approximately seven miles southwest of Medora. The spill impacted the local ecosystem, including an unspecified tributary of Garner Creek and the surrounding rangeland, as per the Minnesota Rural Water Association.

BISMARCK – Registration is now open for North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department (NDPRD) off-highway vehicle (OHV) youth safety courses across the state. NDPRD offers the hands-on courses in an effort to increase OHV safety awareness and prevent accidents. Youth ages 12 to 15 are eligible for the free, in-person OHV certification courses that occur from June 4 through July 27. Class enrollment is limited, so interested participants are encouraged to register soon online at parkrec.nd.gov.

The event gets going with a social hour at 5 p.m., followed by dinner at 6 p.m. Attendees will also have the opportunity to explore new exhibits throughout the museum.
