It seeks to recognise the commitment, dedication and impact their involvement has had on their sport, their club, their team or on an individual. First of the five finalists for this award is Lily Rowntree. Lily spent 30 years as fixtures secretary at City of York Hockey Club, before moving to the chair of the junior section. In her time, Lily has set up the club's coaching academy.

Full list of road closures during York Pride 2025 (Image: Newsquest) A series of road closures and parking changes will be in place across the city during York Pride 2025. As reported by The Press, York Pride will be returning on Saturday, June 7, with a parade marching from Parliament Street to Knavesmire. City of York Council has warned that, in order for the parade to move safely, the following road closures will lead to changes in parking.

North Yorkshire Police said on Thursday, April 10, an incident happened in the Sainsbury's Local in Blossom Street. The incident - reported to have taken place between 5.40pm and 5.45pm - has led to police wanting to find a man and a woman, who they believe may have information which could help their investigation. "The investigation has been ongoing and it is hoped the newly available CCTV images will help to progress the investigation," a force spokesperson said.

3 1/1 THOUSANDS of people are set to flood the city as York Pride returns for another year. Last year, more than 17,500 people attended York Pride, with the event organisers promising a larger crowd for 2025. Returning on Saturday, June 7, the festival's "biggest celebration ever" is the largest of its kind in North Yorkshire, and the largest free one-day festival in York.
