GREAT BARRINGTON — A new community group is encouraging voters to say yes to building a new Monument Mountain Regional High School in November. Citizens for the Next Monument has started its social media push on Instagram and Facebook, with “YES Monument” slogans and photos of new architectural renderings of a finished school. While the group’s website is online, it is still being built out with more information about the project, said Ellen Lahr, co-chair of the group.

GREAT BARRINGTON — Federal agents arrested one of two men at their landscaping job site on Friday morning, but their clients confronted the agents and prevented the second man from being taken into custody. Multiple officers from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrived at Creative Building Solutions at around 11 a.m. to arrest the man, according to Linda Shafiroff, co-owner of the home design and construction business off Maple Avenue.

GREAT BARRINGTON — A sanctuary and support headquarters for people of color and the vulnerable has taken root here off South Main Street. Multicultural BRIDGE, a nonprofit whose first office was an attic, now has a 10,000-square-foot permanent home, called Solidarity Meeting House. It's outfitted with a commercial kitchen, a retreat and residence space, meeting areas and more office space.
