A 15-year-old boy was shot by an Akron Police officer Monday after a female caller reported a man pulling out a gun and pointing it at houses in the area, according to a news release from the department. The officer, a nine-year veteran of Akron Police, responded and found the teen near the intersection of Brittain Road and Ottawa, the release states. The officer fired a single shot, striking the boy. He was taken to a nearby hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

A large part of Northern Ohio will have an enhanced or moderate risk for severe storms on Tuesday evening, the Storm Prediction Center reports. The rain chances will be occasional on Tuesday, along with the threat for thunderstorms. Cleveland police are asking the public to help identify a group of suspects who attempted and failed to steal two vehicles on Sunday at gunpoint and then successfully stole another vehicle. On March 24, at the intersection of Riverbed Street and Elm Street, the suspects exited a stolen Kia Sedona minivan and attempted to rob two victims at gunpoint for both their vehicles, according to a CPD news release. Their attempt was thwarted as they were unable to drive the vehicles.
