L.A. Force tops group during regular season victory against Capo FC at Veterans Memorial Stadium

Forward Michael Salazar led The Los Angeles Force soccer team as they defeated Capo FC from San Juan Capistrano 2-0 with his fifth total goal of the season at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Saturday. The Force came out hot kicking the first few shots of the game adding a ton of pressure around the box. Multiple yellow cards were called against the Force with aggressive tackles being called within the 30th minute of the game.

Long Beach City College’s cheer team ended their season in Daytona Beach Florida for the second year in a row from April 11-13th where they placed fourth in the Intermediate Large Coed Junior College group. LBCC cheer prepared all season for one of the biggest competitions and utilizes practice and football games to be able to show off their skills and test their abilities.

As the Vikings head into their final games of the season, the baseball team and family members celebrate the sophomores as they move on to future endeavors next year. Caleb Brandon, Olin Snakenborg, Xander McLaurin and Luke Davis were named 2024 SCC All-Conference First Team, while Dylan Proost, Myles Dismute, AJ Quezada, Ryan Geck, Reef Danner, and Davis Grawey made the Second Team’s Selections. 17 Viking sophomores will be graduating this season and leaving the program.

Vikings baseball bulldoze through the playoffs, sealing their third consecutive victory with a commanding 9-2 triumph and a strong performance by Caleb Brandon over the Riverside Tigers on Thursday. Pitcher Dylan Proost started the game on the mound pitching six innings, allowing a total of six hits and two runs. In a display of offensive strength, the Vikings orchestrated a six-run fourth inning, propelling them toward their win on Cerritos College’s field .

Long Beach City College baseball lost in a shutout on the road due to errors and denied on runs as the team lost to Cerritos 8-0 on April 25 losing the South Coast Conference. Coming from the previous win the vikings went scoreless due to the falcons defense with five errors committed with only eight hits. Along with the lack of the team defenses has allowed the falcons to score eight runs with three on the bottom of the sixth and eighth losing the chance to claim the title.

Softball secures 30th win in second straight shutout 8-0 over College of the Canyons with a big batting performance by Jaiden Lopez on Wednesday, April 24. The game was a pointedly one-sided affair after a 5-0 first inning in favor of the Vikings. Freshman pitcher Bayleigh Fry pitched four scoreless innings before the Vikings brought reliever Abby Hansen to pitch the last inning.

Freshman Robia Garcia launched a single in the fifth inning where the Vikings softball team loaded the bases twice to get a 10-2 win against Compton on Apr. 9. The Viking were also able to score off a wild pitch, a single by shortstop Xiomei Geluz to make the score 9-2. With the love of basketball always being a part of her life, LBCC women’s basketball head coach Tay Adams has brought great experience and a “never give up” attitude in her first year coaching the program. “Our mentality stayed the same from the beginning to the end. We walked in the beginning of the summer saying ‘We’re a state championship team’ whether or not we had all the pieces yet or knew what that was going to look like.
