RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - A Black Hawk man is sentenced to ten years in federal prison Friday on a gun charge after putting a pistol to the head of a woman and threatening her while she was holding her three year old daughter back in November of 2023. 28 year old Dakota Jolley earlier pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. Jolley was not allowed to have the gun due to two previous drug convictions. A video of the incident was played in court Friday morning.

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - The Air Force’s accident investigation report on the January 4th crash of a B-1 bomber at Ellsworth Air Force Base is out and it lists a multitude of factors that led to the crash of the 450 million dollar jet. Those factors include multiple crew failures, bad weather, wind shear and an organizational culture at the base that tolerated decaying airmanship skills, a lack of discipline, poor communication and inadequate focus on regulations.

(KEVN) - A Minnesota Sheriff’s Deputy is named the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association Officer of the Year for his actions during a shooting incident during last summer’s Sturgis Rally. Anoka County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Tanner Shipman was in Sturgis on vacation when he came upon the incident involving a South Dakota State Trooper.

But to prove they aren’t alone, Monument Health is holding its third annual cancer survivorship event. Monument Health’s Cancer Care Institute hosts their 3rd annual Cancer Survivorship event on Saturday. This year’s theme: Strength and Courage take flight. Event organizers said the event is an opportunity for survivors to connect with a community with shared experiences.

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - We still don’t know when the new B-21 Raider bomber will be arriving at Ellsworth Air Force Base. But we are getting another look at the plane. These are new pictures of the B-21 from Edwards Air Force Base in California, where the bomber is going through flight testing. During testimony in Washington earlier this month, Assistant Secretary of the Air Force Andrew Hunter said B-21 flight testing is on track to meet timelines and deliver the plane.
