    RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - From August 16 through 23, the Central States Fair Grounds will host the Central States Fair. The fair will have something for everyone from bull riding to extreme bronco riding, live music, and even a demolition derby. With only a $5 admission fee, Carnival Americana is in full swing every day during the fair, from noon to midnight. Ferris wheels, yo-yo swings, tilt-a-whirls, and many more set up shop for a week of thrilling fun.

(KOTA) - With programs in schools across the U.S. the South Dakota Community Foundation has awarded STARBASE of South Dakota, Inc. a grant to ensure the growth of STEM education across the state. The primary focus of STARBASE is to reach 5th-grade students and teach them how to understand now that they are capable of doing hard things and solving big problems. It is important to teach kids that science, math, and technology are accessible to people of all ages.

    RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - The 2nd annual Deadlift for DAV event is returning for another year of fun, and raising money for Disabled American Veterans. Hosted by Superior Nutrition, they raised $3,000 last year, and this year, they passed that amount in donations ahead of the event. The event begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday in the Superior Nutrition parking lot in Rapid City.
