Carmen Caballero-Anderson is a mother of four, and is pushing her body to walk again. “I’m a mom, so for me, it wasn’t a matter of if I can walk again. It was a matter of when I can walk again,” said Caballero-Anderson. “People were calling 9-1-1 — I was literally giving my life away,” Anderson said.

The East Moline Police Department responded to a 911 call around 6:32 a.m. in the 200 block of 16th Avenue. Officers discovered a man inside with a gunshot wound and administered life-saving measures until the fire department and EMS took over.

Crews were called to a home in the 300 block of Circle Drive in Riverdale at around 1:30 a.m.When they arrived, the home was engulfed in flames. As they battled the fire, they found a man dead in the home. They rescued a woman who was flown to Iowa City. Three others escaped. Two of them were also flown to Iowa City.

After being closed for six years, the Rock Island Arsenal Golf Course is working hard to become another course in the Quad Cities to attract thousands of visitors to the area every year.
