LAKE TAHOE, Calif. (KTLA) — Six people died, two people were hospitalized, and two others remain missing after a boat capsized on Lake Tahoe Saturday night. Just before 5 p.m. PDT, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office received multiple reports of a capsized boat carrying 10 people near D.L. Bliss State Park, just a few miles west of the Nevada border. The lake was reportedly experiencing large swells with waves reaching 6 to 8 feet.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — An Ohio food truck is facing a lawsuit from Kellanova, formerly the Kellogg Company (and colloquially called “Kellogg’s,” over claims its name plays off a trademarked slogan owned by the multibillion-dollar company. On June 3, Kellanova filed a lawsuit against the Findlay-based food truck L’Eggo My Eggroll in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.

It’s an Our Quad Cities News traffic alert. According to a release from the City of Galesburg, the Lincoln St. railroad crossing between Grove St. and North St. will be closed for repairs on Sunday, June 22 . The Prairie St. crossing between North St. and Water St. will be closed for repairs on Monday, June 23. Work on both crossings is expected to be completed by Friday, June 27. The repairs at the E. Fremont St. underpass have been completed, and the underpass is open to traffic.

The Muscatine Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance concerning shots fired in Muscatine. According to a release from the Muscatine Police Department, on Saturday, June 21 at around 4:00 a.m., shots were fired, believed to be in the area of the Parham St. and Cedar St. intersection. According to the release, the shots appear to be connected to an attempted armed robbery, where a 27-year-old man was shot.

Seventeen counties in Illinois trapped mosquitoes that tested positive for the virus, up from 13 counties in mid-June of 2024. Counties near the Quad Cities include Henry, Bureau and McDonough.
